Via Kevin Drum, I see that Ann Althouse has a crazy ass post up about how in Clinton’s 3 AM ad, a child’s pajamas has the word “Goodnight” sewn on, yet- and here’s why she a franchise player!- the “good” is above the “night”, and the “ht” is obscured. Ergo facto, Hillary Clinton just called Barack Obama a N*****.

When one of her commentariat points out how silly this is, she responds thusly:
Eric, this is a carefully written post that does not say anything incorrect. I state at the outset that I think the pajamas have the words “good night.” But the 3 letters are isolated on the shoulder in a series of otherwise wordless images that are intended to create an intense emotional reaction in the viewer (and to imply that Obama wouldn’t be able to get up at night to take a call). I say it is either deliberate or incompetent, and I say it absolutely deliberately and after much careful thought. This post is no accident, but I can see why it disturbs you and you wish it would go away. But consider that a politician is seeking the greatest power in the word and is doing it in this ad by manipulating deep emotions in millions of people. If we aren’t to look closely at that with a critical eye, we don’t deserve democracy.

Snap! Ann just went through the looking glass. I have to say I’m not surprised that subliminal-jammie-race-baiting would be Clinton’s trump card. I feel like Joe Klein probably called this one months ago. I hope some poor little Time intern is combing through the Swampland archives right now- truely a fate worse than death.

You can either try to sort out exactly why the HRC campaign would be engaging in pajamas-based racial slurs, or instead you can go investigate the True Fact that if you play “My Humps” backwards you get the subliminal message, “Ann Althouse is bugshit loopy.” I recommend the latter course, but I’m not one to go around denying anyone their particular amusements.
UPDATE: Althouse, predictably, updates by whining about how she’s being attacked on other blogs through “personal attacks” and not “substantial debate.” But why is she focusing on blogs when it’s the Black Eyed Peas who have attacked her most directly in the song “My Humps,” which is obviously all about Ann Althouse? As is, of course, “Ann Althouse Gets Retarded in Here.” That last link by the way goes to the official theme song of the Althouse Komment Kommunity, particularly the fellow who says that the fact that the “G” in the alleged “NIG” really looks a lot more like a “C” only strengthens his thesis.
I for one will not rest until the Keyboard Kommandos have figured out just why the Black Eyed Peas are fomenting hateful anti-Althouse sentiments amongst the hip gyrating class? Me thinks Lewinsky might be involved somehow.
